Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I'm Jamie

I’m an award-winning screenwriter, marketing strategist, and story coach. Even at a very early age, I knew that story (and especially visual story) was my jam. From creating comic strips with my first boyfriend when I was just five (yep, started early #romantic), to earning a district-wide award for a book I wrote and illustrated myself (I was nine) to being that girl who won the drama, and art, and mixed media awards through my high school years --- I couldn’t STOP telling stories.


At 18, I was so obsessed with #story that I designed my own major around it at NYU and dove face-first into the history of storytelling -- studying everything from Aristotle to Joseph Campbell to Blake Snyder and Robert McKee -- then taking my booty to Hollywood to learn the behind-the-scenes of “breaking” and developing story for both film and TV.

With mentors who’ve consulted for studios like Pixar, worked with directors like Tony Scott, produced movies like When Harry Met Sally & The Cable Guy, and wrote big Blockbusters like The Proposal, I’ve been taught by the best in the business. And now I want to share that knowledge with you.


What I’ve learned in all my years of studying story and writing is that every other system I’ve seen out there is sorely lacking -- it’s either WAY too much and overwhelms the writer, or it’s NOT quite enough to get the writer going. Welcome to class! In Modules 1 through 3, I'll take you through the most fundamental aspects of story.

You'll learn how to:

Obstacles, Relationships, Transformation, and Story “DNA”

  • How to plot out the obstacles. Time to turn up the heat of your story and lay down those stakes, cause STAKES ARE EVERYTHING. You’ll learn how to create tension and suspense for your audience so they’re on the edge of their seats!


  • The centrality of relationships in a story and how to craft them in a believable and authentic way. I’ll teach you why relationship building is essential to the arc of character transformation and exactly how to do it so your audience is transforming right along with you.

The Big Picture

It’s time to zoom out so we can look at the widescreen version, baby!

During these modules, you will:


  • Practice the art of stepping back, so you can develop a top-level understanding of your story’s structure, and how you can MASTER it so it works FOR YOU. It was then that I learned that when you’re called to really dive deep, commit to a particular idea, or go all-in on a story that is begging to be told -- it can be a very profound and life-enhancing experience. Even almost 20 years later, this continues to be true for me. Every single story has its own special healing powers. This is what drives me to continue teaching the art of storytelling and is why I’m deeply devoted to helping others write and share their stories through their personal brands and creative pursuits. After working with hundreds of entrepreneurs and creatives on their stories -- shaping them to inspire and sell -- I decided it was time to finally teach ALL that I know.
